Notice to Recreational Dancers and Teachers
Just a small note to clarify some recent changes to the Recreational Division. Whilst Recreational dancers cannot compete with their teachers in Recreational Individual events, they are able to compete inTeacher with Recreational Student or Open Student Events. These events are included in the screeds for all upcoming local events. Full details of these changes can be found here.
DSWA Sport Development Day
All DSWA registered Coaches and Adjudicators are invited to attend the 2018 DSWA Sport Development Day. This will be an open forum style event covering issues vital to the future success of DanceSport in WA. In attendance will be Dallas Williams, President DSA, Geoff Vine, Chair of Marketing DSA and Martyn Kibel, Chair of Accrediation, DSA. The full details for the event can be found here.
Paradance Come and Try Day
On Saturday 3rd February DSWA was proud to launch a new frontier in DanceSport with our first Paradance Come and Try Day. The event, held at the Herb Graham Recreation Centre, was a fantastic success with specially trained Coaches and Competitors introducing wheelchair dancing to members of Rebound. Congratulations to Judy Williams and her team of volunteers who made this event outstanding. Photos of the event can be found here.
If you are interested in helping with the 12 week pilot program for both adults and children, please contact us. Lessons are being held in Manning, Balcatta and Mirrabooka and start this week.
DSWA Sausage Sizzle
A huge thank-you goes out to the members and supporters who volunteered their time at the DSWA Sausage Sizzle last Sunday. Their hard work raised $1505 which will be added to our WA State Team funding. A special note of thanks is sent to Anna di Vincenzo and Jan Reilly who organise this event.
New Registered Training Facility
